Futon Covers for Kids!

As futons continue to grow in popularity, so will the variety of the people buying and/or using them. You have your expected demographics, like college students. But then you have some that don’t immediately jump to mind, but make sense the more you think about it - in this case, kids. More and more futons can be spotted in children’s rooms these days, which come with their own considerations of looks and durability.

On FutonsETC.com, we feature hundreds upon hundreds of futon covers, but here I’m going to highlight a few of the covers that are ideal for spill-prone children with a high threshold of visual stimulation, to make things easier for you parents (or for you wealthy and internet savvy kids). Who said a futon had to look boring?

This Bug a Boo futon cover features a charming design of cute ladybugs crawling atop a black and white checkerboard background. It is a blend of polyester and cotton. Machine washable in cold water.

The Bubbles futon cover is a playful and bold cover that demands attention. From the neon-green backdrop to the hot-colored “bubbles” of various sizes, the only thing missing on this cover that says “Look at me!” is a glow-in-the-dark feature. Blend of polyester and cotton. Machine washable in warm water.

The Oceana futon cover is a bright and youthful cover perfect for a futon mattress located in a child’s room or play area. Blend of polyester and cotton. Machine washable in warm water.

The title of this cover, as well as the design, rebukes the cartoon myth hammered into our heads that cats and dogs are natural enemies. The Comrades futon cover displays adorable pattern of illustrated cats, dogs, and mice sitting happily amongst each other, with a swirly shape and a bone thrown in there for good measure – perhaps the artist has a dog bias. Blend of polyester and cotton. Machine washable in warm water.

Of course, these are not nearly all of the covers you’ll find that will seem ideal for a child’s room. What these covers have in common is that they are all machine washable, and because they are made by the manufacturer SIS, they feature an innovative three-way zipper that will make putting it on your futon mattress a whole lot easier.
